Meet Tom

As a leader, Tom is deeply passionate about building a contemporary model of education and empowering leaders, educators and students alike through the development of autonomy, mastery, and purpose.

Tom is a proud advocate for public education and views his role as one of service. He intentionally leverages leadership and initiatives to raise the profile of his region and contributes to the broader public education landscape. As a lifelong learner, Tom actively seeks opportunities to grow through collaboration, feedback, and engagement with leading thinkers and networks.

To amplify this impact and support others in creating transformative change in their schools and communities, Tom engages in a range of strategic initiatives, including:

  • Active member of the South Australian Secondary Principals’ Association (SASPA) Strategic Networking Groups – Leadership Development

  • Active member of the SASPA Strategic Networking Groups –  Learning and Teaching

  • Co-Leader of the SASPA LIFT Executive Leadership Development Program (12 Month Leadership Program for B2 - B5 Leaders)

  • Active member of the SASPA Action Research Reference Group – Principalship

  • Active member of the Department for Education Exploration project: Evidencing, Assessing and Reporting on the SA Curriculum

  • Member of the ASPA / SASPA Next Generation Learning Initiative

  • Convener of the Western Adelaide Action Research Conference

  • Co-Designer of the National Entrepreneurial Educators Exchange (E3) Conference – 2022, 2023, 2024

  • Co-Author of The Playbook for Entrepreneurial Education in Schools (a free resource for educators)

  • Graduate of High Tech High’s Graduate School of Education’s Lead Schools Program, High Tech High, San Diego California
