These links will take you to a range of organisations that have resources and/or provide services that are relevant to secondary school leaders. MindMatters - a resource and professional development program to support Australian secondary schools in promoting and protecting the social and emotional wellbeing of members of school communities.
ICSEI 2006 Conference Papers - the International Congress of School Effectiveness & Improvement - papers from their 2006 conference in Florida.
- Leadspace (New Zealand) is a site dedicated to building school leadership capacity. Click on the various parts of the triangle on the left of the screen to visit the various areas available. Example: the Leadership area is a place where school leaders come to think about and reflect on the nature of leadership and principalship. It links school leaders to journal articles, current research, and national and international sites with relevance to school leadership. This information is classified into four broad areas of leadership knowledge and practice: vision, culture, decision making, and systems.
- Principals Australia - "Mission = The APAPDC will ensure that all Australian Principals have knowledge of, and access to, high quality, appropriate professional development activities, regardless of the type, size, location or affiliation of their school."
- Curriculum Corporation is "an independent education support organisation owned by all Australian education ministers established to assist education systems in improving student learning outcomes. (They) are a major provider and publisher of high quality print and digital curriculum products, provide highly-regarded educational project management services, deliver assessment and testing services to education systems, provide a model for online delivery and nurture strategic partnerships."
- Education Network Australia - "Australia’s leading online resource collection and collaborative network for the education and training community."
- MCEETYA - Ministerial Council for Education, Employment, Training and Youth Affairs - The Council comprises State, Territory, Australian Government and New Zealand Ministers with responsibility for the portfolios of education, employment, training and youth affairs. Functions of the Council include coordination of strategic policy at the national level, negotiation and development of national agreements on shared objectives and interests in the Council's areas of responsibility, negotiations on scope and format of national reporting on areas of responsibility, sharing of information and collaborative use of resources towards agreed objectives and priorities, and coordination of communication with, and collaboration between, related national structures.
- National College for School Leadership , U.K. - "The National College for School Leadership provides learning and development opportunities and professional and practical support for school leaders at every stage in their career."
- National Excellence in Teaching Awards - "The Australian Scholarships Group formed the NEiTA Foundation in 1994 to conduct a program of national awards honouring exemplary teachers in Australian schools and early childhood centres."
- Teaching Australia - "Teaching Australia - Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership supports and advances the effectiveness and standing of the teaching profession. It seeks to be a strong unifying body acting in the interests of teachers and school leaders, drawing the profession together to promote quality teaching and school leadership for the good of all Australians. Objectives = Teaching Australia has been established as the national body for the teaching profession, encompassing the professional practice of teaching and school leadership in all settings, sectors and jurisdictions. Their role is to support and advance the quality of teaching and leadership, strengthen and advance the standing of the profession, and develop as the national body for the teaching profession."
